Book details

I was inspired to write this monograph by the desire to collect and interpret the results of impact resistance tests for various types of rock bolts. Presented in this monograph are both new results of tests for rock bolts currently utilised in mines all over the world, as well as those test results that have already been published in Polish and international journals, supplemented with additional charts, calculations and analyses concerning the energy absorbed by the bolts as well as the mechanical properties of steel under dynamic loading. The new material in the monograph includes the presented analyses and the determined relationships which enable the definition of differences between static and dynamic courses of loading and the energy absorbed by the bolts, as well as the mathematical models of internal friction and bolt bar elongation under impact loading. The monograph presents the differences in impact resistance for various bar designs and grades of steel at great deformation rates of bars in the form of: smooth and deformed bars, spiral deformed bars with a thread over the entire length, tube sections with rope threads as well as rope and cable bolts.
